How well does your name Google? Who are you up against? (Celebrities, etc.)
Submitted by Matt Blank.
I am the #5 result on Google for my first name, Meredith. Believe it or not, I am the first person on Google! The listings ahead of me are for the publishing company (#1 and #2), the college (#3), and a town in New Hampshire. I'm #5 out of 10,300,000 results. Not bad, eh?
This coming weekend I will be going to a party in Connecticut. We are driving up to NYC Thursday night and we'll stay overnight there, then we will pick up a couple of friends who live in Manhattan and on Friday afternoon we will drive the rest of the way to Connecticut. These parties mostly involve video games and beer, neither of which are really an attraction for me, but there will be some very good friends at this party that I haven't seen in quite a long time. We'll probably leave on July 3rd and drive back to NYC, then drive the rest of the way back home on July 4th.
I can't cook at all, so my signature is something from the grocery store! When I was a kid I won a kiddie baking contest with a chocolate chunk pie, and it was fantastic and easy, but I'd never bother to make something like that now. I'd seriously just go to the store, or volunteer to bring drinks - because whenever somebody else brings drinks, they never get enough diet!
Firefly! The show was created by someone who had proven himself successful in the television biz, and yet for some reason he wasn't given enough time to let Firefly prove itself, too. There were so many questions left unanswered - was River really psychic? why did Book have connections within the Alliance? - and it was a total shame for it to go off the air so quickly. I wish we could have seen the cast develop their characters further.
It's bizarre - I am just not a music person. When I was in college and severely depressed, I used to listen to "Miss Chatelaine" all the time - that's by k.d. lang, off her album Ingenue. But that doesn't necessarily perk me up anymore...I just don't listen to music enough to really have a pick-me-up song!
The first concert I can remember attending was Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie when I was very young. I don't think I necessarily enjoyed it, but I do remember going.
I thought I wanted to be a marine biologist, until I found out that wasn't the same thing as a dolphin trainer! I think I had a period of wanting to be a ballerina, too.
You know...I can't think of one. It's a bit odd, but all of the memories I can think of are not-so-great. Waking up from anesthesia after my hernia surgery. Choking on the molds when I was supposed to get braces. Going to my grandmother's burial. I really can't think of anything offhand that is especially positive, which is odd because I don't think I had a bad childhood.
Recently, it would have to be the GPS unit I got for my 25th birthday. Further back, probably the digital camera I got for my 21st birthday. And more cryptically - but most importantly - being forgiven for past sins.
